Deutz Blanc de Blanc 2003
A very stylish sparkling wine from Marlborough can be both an aperitif or served Deutz Brut with main course food. Suits reasonably delicate dishes. Seafood is great, particularly shellfish and salmon. The acidity in the wine helps to enhance seafood flavours in much the same way as garnishing it with a squeeze of lemon. A native of Burgundy, France, this grape variety dates back to the 1950s in New Zealand. Experimentally grown at a Government Research station in the Waikato in the 1950s Chardonnay grapes are now grown mainly in Marlborough, Gisborne and Hawkes Bay.

DESSERT WINES
Haewai Festive Mead or Honey Mead
Haewai Meads are made locally in Houghton Bay Road from natural spring water mixed with organic honeys. They can be served at room temperature or with ice. Also recommended as a Dessert Wine to accompany our Pavlova dessert offering. Festive Mead is dry whilst Honey Mead is medium sweet.
Mt Cass "Opulence" Late Harvest Chardonnay 2006
Harvested in June 2004 at waipara in North Canterbury this classy, fresh sweet wine with apricots, honey and pear flavours has vanilla and cream notes on a long sugary finish. Melts in the mouth ad especially good with the Cheeky Pipi heavier desserts (Steam puddings and Chocolate cake in particular). What a way to finish a great night at the Cheeky Pipi !
